December News & Information

Thank you for participating in the health of our Club! If you are one of the 170 members who responded to the member survey, or are on a committee, or serve on the Advisory Committee you are providing essential feedback and direction regarding how our Club operates and improving the experience for all members. Our newest Advisory Committee members and our 2019 President-Elect will be announced at the December Year-End-Review/Member Mingle, December 20th at 7pm in the Ballroom. Attending this annual event is another great way to provide feedback and suggestions to improve our Club. The Social hour will begin at 6pm with free appetizers and your first beverage for free! We’ll recap the highlights of 2018, share our planning for 2019 and provide a summary of the member survey results. There will also be an open forum discussion where all members are invited to participate. Hope to see you there!

Regarding the health of our Club – this was a good year for us. We are financially stable and continue to invest in improvements in all areas. Membership was solid this year but we had some attrition at the end of the year (which is normal). To keep our Club vibrant and healthy however, we need to continue to attract new members. To that end we have revised the structure of our memberships going forward. The most significant impediment to joining a private Club is the initiation fee. As such, we will no longer require an initiation fee when joining. All memberships going forward will be annual memberships with Golf memberships requiring a two year commitment. The annual fee/dues are higher than what current members are paying but still in line with other private Clubs in the area. With our amenities Dellwood C.C. is a much better value. Our expectation is that we get back to mid-year membership levels by next spring.

Yes – winter came too early this year, but with it comes other fun activities. The skating rink will be back this year and hopefully ready to use by the holiday vacation time. As soon as we get snow the sledding hill will

open and we will groom the cross-country ski trail. We will also light the sledding hill and skating rink

every Friday and Saturday evening through the winter. Check the events calendar in the back of the

newsletter for all of the exciting things we have planned over the next couple of months.

Speaking of new – we have an exciting New Year’s Eve party planned. The theme this year is a costume/masquerade party. Come dressed in your best costume, bring your friends, take pictures and ring in the

New Year with a bang! The Fireside Room will be set up as a lounge with games to play and areas to relax

and hang out. The cost will include appetizer stations throughout the evening, pizza bar, champagne toast

at midnight and live music from 8:00pm to Midnight in the Ballroom. The cost for everything is

$40++ per person. Hope you can join us for the best and safest New Year’s Eve party ever!
