If you attended the Town Hall meeting, or read the recap, you are aware that 2013 was a great year for our club. The future is looking very positive and we have tremendous momentum. New members have been joining right up until the last day of the year. The culture of casual elegance is building and will continue as the renovations are completed over the next year.
If we experience the same level of membership growth in 2014 as we did in 2013 we will be very close to our membership cap. This is a significant achievement for a club that was at 40% of our membership target 14 months ago. There is no reason to think that our growth won’t continue. We will open the 2014 season with a completely renovated golf course. Every hole has been improved over the past year. Maintenance of the course has never been better. Eric and his crew are committed to providing a “tournament ready” golf course every day. You are a member of a club with a golf course that you can and should be very proud to play and show off to friends and business acquaintances.
Our initiation fee has increased to $5,000 and is still the best value in the area. With our great golf course, new Pool Complex and clubhouse remodel, 2014 will be another year of growth for our club. We are committed to continually adding amenities that make membership at Dellwood a truly unique and special experience.
As we head into the winter months there are a few things your Dellwood membership provides that will help make this winter bearable. We have a reciprocity agreement with the University Club that allows our members to dine at either of the St Paul locations (Summit Avenue and the downtown St Paul Athletic Club). These facilities will be great places to dine during the month of February while our Grill is closed. We will also be kicking off our winter sports weekends on January 11th. For four weeks in a row we will open the Grill on Saturday and Sunday for those who would like to take advantage of our cross-country ski trails (groomed with snowmobiles), great sledding down the first tee box and snow shoeing. Our course is really beautiful during the winter. Bring the family out for sledding, enjoy a day of cross country skiing or try your hand at snow shoeing and we will provide the warmth of the Grill with your favorite food and beverages. Watch our web site and your email for more details.
Thanks to everyone for being a member of Dellwood Country Club. As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.
Happy New Year!
